The Strategic Hub

On the banks of the Rio Pongo, the Port of Kokaya is the nerve centre of our logistics: the last link before export to world markets.

The Strategic Hub

Kokaya, our gateway to the world

Located on the Rio Pongo, the Port of Kokaya is designed for efficiency: large-scale storage, rapid barge loading, and an export rate growing strongly since our activities resumed.

This is where the last link before export is played out. Trucks arrive continuously, weighed on entry, before tipping their load onto the storage terminal. Day and night, the conveyors feed the shiploader, which pours the ore into the barges moored at the berths. Once loaded, they are towed to the transhipment zone on the open sea — the final stage before Guinean bauxite sets sail.

Our advantage

Competitive advantage

A river port on the Rio Pongo

A strategic location, designed for efficiency in the last logistical link before export.

Large-scale storage

2,000,000 tonnes of capacity at the port mining terminal, fed by two fixed 70-metre conveyors.

Automated loading

A shiploader connected to the belt conveyor, across 2 loading berths of 63 m, for a rate of 3,000 tonnes per hour.

A rapidly growing rate

An export rate that has tripled in five months, driven by the ramp-up of our operations.

Our method

Every tonne weighed, every move checked

No truck enters the terminal without crossing the weighbridge, on arrival as well as when unloading. Stock is monitored continuously, ore quality checked by sampling before loading, and every barge is inspected before departing for the transhipment zone. This rigour guarantees the reliability of our shipments, vessel after vessel.

Compulsory weighbridge

No truck enters or leaves without being weighed.

Sampling checks

Ore quality is verified before every loading.

Inspection before departure

Every barge is checked before joining the transhipment zone.
